The Smart Splitter
We initially tested this simple, easy-to-emble, lightweight and extremely well-made device on 6" to 12" diameter oak rounds. As we suspected, it would probably be easier to swing a maul on serious hardwood, but with some added manual force it did eventually split the oak after striking a few times. After a bit of practice the Smart-Splitter is effective on small to medium size wood and larger pieces of already split firewood. The Smart-Splitter works extremely well for safely and precisely splitting kindling without the danger of swinging a hatchet. While Smart-Splitter can be used by just about anyonelarge or smallit's an excellent alternative for those who might have trouble swinging a heavy maul. Includes everything necessary to start splitting right out of the box (with the exception of a drill for mounting). Designed in Sweden.
